Once again bested by the cycle. Then again its better than letting something fester and collect dust than to just making bread crumb progress. Not that it's a better option, just the better of the two.

With Summer in full swing, the heat and wistful thoughts of a hotel vacation has lulled me back to this little story idea. Maybe its the recent overcast weather, maybe its a seething irritation of mosquitos, maybe its the recent tourist attaction events happening around. Regardless, it got me thinking more on a story set in an off season tropical resort; about an annual phenomenon of a fog that descends on the area, ferrying whatever into its bizarre realm. With only a limited time before it departs, forcing an unfortunate guest to find their way out before they disappear with the fog or become part of its macabre eco-system.

This little sheet expanding a little with another character and visual concepts for some of the creatures. But mostly it is completely hijacked for an alternate scenario of the main character duo.

Although still managed to sneak in some information about the main characters from comparing the difference in their switched roles.

But that's enough ranting for now. Not when there is more texts in the pieces themselves.

-

Milo

The off-season caretaker of the Santa Keyes resort. Expecting an easy vacation. Milo still tries to cater to the guests with the resort's skeleton crew. Watching over a lost Moya, gifting them a walkie talkie to help ease their worry. Milo took responsibility of Moya's predicament for leaving them alone when the fog descended.

Providing any help that circumstances allowed. Milp rushed to learn the properties of the fog and the resort's measures against the phenomenon. Prioritizing Moya's safety in his frantic investigation to get them out of the fog.

Switcheroo # 2

Age swap. Moya taking on the protector role for the amnesiac Doyle. His original anxious state are exasperated by the memory loss. While Moya's own withdrawn state is better brought out in working with Doyle to escape the fog.

---

Radio

Realizing they were ferried to the fog's realm. Moya reports to Milo of their findings and *progress as they try to escape. Losing the walkie talkie in running away from a fog creature. Just after Moya informed Milo of their encounter with Doyle.

* To his benefit - Milo would've had a much worse reaction if Moya described enough for him to recognize who 'Doyle' was.

---

Chase Sequence

Lacking proper means to fight back the fog creatures. Moya is forced to run from the creatures until they run far enough to lose them or close to catching them, are deterred, by Moya's insecticide spray or Doyle tossing objects. If Moya lags further behind Doyle without time to defend themself, Doyle will linge after the pursuer. Separating from Moya.

-

Hazards

Doyle and Moya shared equal damage in their exploration of the fog realm; Doyle suffering from enemy attacks and any accidents that could be intervened in, while Moya's injuries are often resulted from the mutated ecosystem and the few surprise ambushes too sudden to be prevented, but not for a lack of trying.

---

Development

Moya's need to leave the fog are more certain than originally after finding Doyle. Expressing further in their muted communication invthe effort to ease Doyle's distress and better facilitate their escape.

-

Radar Doyle's detector role overtakes the protector role he would originally have. Having a heightened sensitivity against the fog creatures and pointing to hard-to-spot items. Malong up for the greater risk when Doyle would stall the pursuer if Moya lags behind.
