Cycling back to this little story surrounding Disaster Responders and Catastrophe chasers. Still focusing on character concepts, and using such to explore the setting.

This time focusing on the categorized background characters, specifically disaster victims whose survival are ripe for defining the origin and affects of the story's main power system. So far named the Apex Phenomenon. Encompassing the abilities and mutations in the story; an unusual cause of the settings abnormally high disaster occcurance rate, and the properties that restrain the casts from overusing their ability while explaining how other characters 'gain' an ability.

This specific page takes a look at the more detrimental effects of those affected by the Phenomenon, and the even more destructive effects and morally dubious efforts to study and understand the Phenomenon.

Catastrophe survivors rescued by Disaster Responders. Those unable to be reintegrated to society are taken under their parent organization's custody. The children are delegated to atudy the *Apex Phenomenon - How the phenomenon cause unique mutations and anomalous abilities or a higher likelihood to develop those abilities. How subsequent exposures 'evolve' existing traits. And how it correlates to natural disasters.

Apex Phenomenon; An anomalous occurance that relates to the abnormally high disaster rates; dangerously bizarre mutations, and metaphysically disruptive powers in exposed individuals. Incidents of spontaneous combustion, and its detrimental effects to the environment.

Apex Subject; Human subjects, specifically disaster victims who had been exposed to natural disasters caused by the Apex Phenomenon to study the anomaly.

Apex Bursts; Involuntary combustion of a living person who are exposed to and affected the Apex Phenomenon. Expelling a massive amount of energy.

A victim of a sudden bacterial outbreak whose survival left her body mutated into a dangerously infectious vector. Causing another outbreak that resulted in a mass sterilization of the epidemic site before Marina's containment. Kept under heavy quarantine, eventually forgotten in isolation. Somehow making contact with the other subjects; introducing concepts of the outside world.

Long after the passing of Emi and subjects whose ability are too unpredictable to contain during the laboratory Purge. The death still haunting the surviving Apex Subjects.
